Natural Hair Mask

I absolutely love this natural hair mask that you can easily do at home, all you need is a great carrier oil and castor oil. A carrier oil is a light weight oil such as olive oil, almond oil, and for my personal preference is coconut oil. This hair mask is super simple as long as you have those two ingredients and a shirt that you don't necessarily care if the oil gets on your shirt. So, let's get in to how to make it and apply it.

Ingredients: - 1 tbsp. coconut oil* (or other carrier oil of your choice) - 1 tbsp. castor oil* *Using organic oils is best whenever possible

Method:

  1. Melt on low heat over the stove 1 tbsp. coconut oil.

  2. Add the melted coconut oil to a bowl and add the 1 tbsp. castor oil to that bowl and mix with a spoon or your fingers.

  3. Apply the mixed oil to your fingers and begin to work it in the end of your hair. You can just do the ends at this point and put your hair up and let it moisturize and nourish OR you can add the hair mask to your scalp as well (in the video I do both so take a look if you would like to see how I did that).

  4. Let sit on your hair for a minimum of 30 minutes, preferably an hour OR you can leave it on over night as long as you lay down a towel over your pillow or something that you don't mind if it gets some oil on it. Note: Castor oil is a very thick oil and can really mess things up if you like them.

  5. Wash out the hair mask using a natural shampoo as you don't want your hair to be stripped of those amazing oils by using a chemical filled drying out shampoo. You might need to shampoo twice to get the hair mask out fully.

  6. Let your hair air dry and observe your healthy hair!

This natural hair mask is so moisturizing and nourishing for your hair and can assist with hair growth for longer thicker hair. So, let me know in the comments if you tried this hair mask and how it worked for you. I love to hear from you!

Holistically Humble,

Katie xoxo
