The Power of Establishing a Strong Morning Routine

Establishing a morning routine is an absolute non-negotiable for me. It's a practice I've meticulously crafted over the years, and I find myself eagerly anticipating it every (well, most) mornings. However, in my teens and early 20s, a morning routine was non-existent.


This is what it looked like: I'd push waking up to the last possible minute, rush through getting ready without having breakfast, and dive headfirst into my day.


The result? I felt ungrounded, disorganized, and perpetually stressed. Not exactly the refreshing start I needed, you know?


Fast forward to the last few years, and I've firmly locked down my morning routine. Let's keep it real—I'm only human, and I don't follow this routine every single morning as listed. But on most mornings, I do, and I'm incredibly grateful for it.


Now, let's dive into the details of my favourite morning routine:


  • Wake up early: Usually around 6:30 am. And here's the kicker—no snoozing the alarm.


  • Coconut oil pull: Incorporating this three times a week.



  • Hydration kickstart: Enjoying warm lemon water with Celtic salt, and on some mornings, it's just Celtic salt and water.


  • Skincare rituals: Ice rolling my face and performing gua sha with coconut oil, which doubles as my trusted moisturizer and makeup remover.


  • Embrace natural light: Ensuring I get a dose of natural morning light in my eyes.


  • Mind-body connection: Engaging in yoga, meditation, and/or reading a book.


  • Mindset reset: Practicing a session from Rewire.


  • Breakfast time: Currently, my go-tos are chocolate protein smoothies or scrambled eggs with turkey bacon.


  • Optional extras: Depending on the day, I might also journal, take a cold plunge, exercise, or write out my to-do list.


It's important to note that building up to this routine took years. As I shared in a recent Instagram reel, I'm following my intuition and cultivating self-trust. These morning rituals make me feel good, enhance my overall health and wellness, and set a positive tone for my day.
